Park West is not just a mixed-use development proposal— it represents the culmination of planning and design strategies aimed at creating a vibrant new 60+ acre “town center” in the western portion of Delray Beach, Florida. Situated on a former nursery site within the Agricultural Reserve (AGR) zone, our team was tasked with fulfilling the client’s vision of a large-scale development while navigating zoning regulations and ensuring that the project’s impact on the broader community was carefully considered. Key concerns included working around environmentally-sensitive features, successfully managing induced traffic, and mitigating stormwater runoff.
Guided by the principles of New Urbanism and utilizing a forward-thinking approach, Park West strikes a harmonious balance between the built environment and the preservation of natural ecosystems and habitats. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and quality of life, the project aspires to be at the forefront of resilient design, setting a new standard for proposed developments in Florida and beyond.
The Park West plan is designed to achieve LEED Platinum Certification, the highest level of sustainability in the LEED program. Beyond its eco-friendly features, the development offers a variety of recreational amenities including walking trails, pickleball courts, parks, playgrounds, and other facilities that promote active and healthy lifestyles.
Positioned as the heart of the community, Park West prioritizes accessibility, affordability, and inclusivity. It directly addresses the critical need for workforce and student housing in Delray Beach, particularly serving the medical industry and Florida Atlantic University. By offering a diverse range of uses — retail, office, hospitality, industry, structured parking, multi-family housing, affordable housing, townhomes, and ample open space — Park West will be a community where people can live, work, and play in a thriving community of tomorrow.
